Anecdotally... uncommitted drivers cause far more road trauma than speed kills.

I am happy to stand corrected but I believe this is the penalty in Queensland for being a Control Freak

...traffic didn't interest me when I was sworn, I don't think I finished an entire ticket book in 18 years, but I had three favourite tickets

coming in at #3 - Fail to stop at a stop sign... no brainer

at #2 - running a red light, but I only gave the ticket if the light went green for me and the dickhead drove straight past my marked police car at the intersection. There's more than one ticket there!

Heads up - here's a current day anecdotal scenario for you - if a copper issued an in infringement from s.125 TORUM-RRs as above, the driver would take it to court and plead not guilty because the driver was distracted that day by a call (hands-free Your Honor!) advising them of the news that their Tesla was being delayed for a fortnight and quite frankly the driver was trying to work out how to tell their partner who had just had an overseas trip cancelled!

The Prosecutor would then be slammed by the Magistrate as to how this trauma had not been considered when issuing the infringement!

Defendant wins.

Defendant gets awarded costs.

Copper gets a failed prosecution and possibly desk top management for conduct... just saying.
